The detachable plate heat exchanger is made by stamping corrugated thin plates at regular intervals, sealed around them by gaskets, and stacked with frames and pressing screws. The four corner holes of the plates and gaskets form fluid distribution and collection tubes, while also reasonably separating the hot and cold fluids, allowing them to flow through the flow channels on both sides of each plate and exchange heat through the plates. Theoretical research and product manufacturing of plate heat exchangers are continuously evolving, with new types of heat exchangers emerging on the market and their applications becoming increasingly widespread.

What should be noted when selecting a plate heat exchanger?

1. Selection of form type

should be selected with lower resistance, or conversely, higher resistance should be chosen. Depending on fluid pressure and temperature, decide whether to choose a detachable type or a brazed type. When determining plate types, it is not advisable to choose plates with a single plate area too small, to avoid excessive number of plates, low inter-plate flow velocity, and excessively low heat transfer coefficient. This issue should be especially noted for larger heat exchangers.

3. Pressure drop verification

When designing and selecting plate heat exchangers, there are generally certain requirements for pressure drop, so verification is necessary. If the checked pressure drop exceeds the allowable drop, the design selection calculation must be redone until process requirements are met. The Yuanwang BR type plate heat exchanger features high heat exchange efficiency, minimal material flow resistance loss, compact structure, sensitive temperature control, great operational flexibility, easy assembly and disassembly, and long service life. It is currently the most advanced high-efficiency energy-saving heat exchange equipment in China.

2. Selection of flow and runners

Process flow refers to a set of parallel flow channels in a type of medium in the same flow direction within a plate heat exchanger, while a flow channel refers to a flow channel composed of two adjacent plates in a plate heat exchanger. Generally, several channels are connected in parallel or series to form different combinations of cold and hot medium channels.

The process combination form should be calculated based on heat exchange and fluid resistance, and determined if process conditions are met. Try to make the convective heat transfer coefficients in the cold and hot water channels equal or close to achieve optimal heat transfer results. This is because when the convective heat transfer coefficients on both sides of the heat transfer surface are equal or close, the heat transfer coefficient is relatively large. Although the flow velocity between plates in plate heat exchangers varies, the average flow velocity is still used for heat exchange and fluid resistance calculations. Because the "U"-shaped single-process pipes are fixed on the clamping plate, assembly and disassembly are convenient.
